I am caught in wonder at the natural world. " Come look at this, how beautiful this plant is, how intricate this spider web is and look how the stripes on a chipmunk echo his shape. Come see what I see." A perfect moment worthy of notice and remenbering - that is what sets me to painting. I paint to say what I can't find words for .....to share with you.
I paint with watercolours on paper when I am portraying a subject that is illusive and delicate. For stronger or brighter topics I change to acrylic on canvas. The challenge of taking these materials and creating with them is at times delightful and at other times a wonderful struggle.
But always worth heading to the studio.
